With the blessing of our Dean, we will conclude our Lenten Sunday Liturgy Services with the great reflective Prayer of St. Ephraim the Syrian.

The prayer will be said by the priest:

Priest: "O Lord and Master of my life, a spirit of idleness, despondency, ambition, and idle talking give me not. "

Prostration.(if you are able)

Priest: "But rather a spirit of chastity, humble-mindedness, patience, and love bestow upon me Thy servant. "

Prostration. (if you are able)

Priest: "Yea, O Lord and King, grant me to see my failings and not condemn my brother; for blessed art Thou unto the ages of ages. Amen. "

Prostration.(if you are able)

Then, twelve repetitions of:

People: "O God, cleanse me a sinner."

Bow.

Priest: Bless holy fathers and brethren, and forgive me a sinner all wherein I have sinned this day in deed, word, and thought, and by all my senses, and pray for me a sinner.

People: May God forgive and have mercy on us all.

Bless me, holy father, and forgive me a sinner all wherein I have sinned this day in deed, word, and thought, and by all my senses, and pray for me a sinner.

Priest: Through His grace may God forgive and have mercy on us all.

And then the priest says the final litany while the choir softly chants "Lord Have Mercy".

Priest: Let us all say for ourselves:

Choir: "Lord Have Mercy (thrice) Father, bless."

Priest: (Closing)

Choir: "Amen"
